YOUTH

YOUTH GROUP

We have a newly established "St Margaret Mary Church Youth Group" which is very exciting.  It is open to youth of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish who are in secondary school years 7 - 11.  Dates and activities will be published in the Church Newsletter.

Membership aims to foster links between the Church Community and our Youth and will involve participation in a range of activities, including Church based events.  The group will meet every month on a Friday evening in the Church Hall.  All are very welcome to join in.  A Code of Conduct and Behaviour agreement must be signed by the young person and a parent/guardian in order for them to attend the group.

Adult helpers are always greatly welcomed and can join a rota for helping with our young people (CRB checks will be required).  Please contact the Chair of the Management committee for more information/details or offers of help or equipment donations!

BOOMERANG Bible Holiday Club

Boomerang is an annual Churches Together Children's holiday club, taking place each morning during the first week of the summer holidays.  The club is open to all children across the Western Wards, aged 0 - 11 years.

The aim of Boomerang is to encourage the local Churches to work together to give children and their families an open door to faith, relationships and community.  The huge volunteer team needed for Boomerang each year comes from the Churches (CRB checked).

The Boomerang motto is "Faith, fun and follow".  This is an Ecumenical Project for the Western Ward Churches (Churches Together Group to which we belong).  There are 4 groups of different ages meeting across different locations during the week.  The sessions include icebreakers, singing, quizzes, Bible stories, DVDs, group discussion, activities - and a drink and a snack.  The week concludes on the Friday evening with a fun packed family evening and lively Worship Service.

For more information on how to register you can visit the Web site or watch for details in the Church Newsletter.  Volunteers, help and donations are always required and warmly received.
